In 2012, I ran for office to fight against tax increases that unfairly burden Michiganders. Michigan House Democrats have introduced bills that would repeal the pension tax and restore the Homestead Property Tax Credit, the per-child deduction and the Earned Income Tax Credit.

I have introduced and co-sponsored bills that would repeal unfair tax increases and give working families and retirees the break they need.

Higher taxes are no way to foster greater economy growth and opportunity. The financial burden imposed on working families by the Republican-led legislature is wrong for Michigan. House Democrats believe a great way to move our state forward is to repeal these tax increases and let families keep more of their hard-earned money.
